Making presents and cards for friends and family....

So, the year is nearly ending and Christmas and New Year is coming. It's almost the end of 2008 and many of us may have been through the worse, the best, and many other obstacles.

What ever it is...we still survived! HEY!! :)

So, I'm currently making Christmas cards and some presents for my closest friends and relatives. I'm even planning to make something nice for my cat, Frank as well as my lil baby boo :) Okay, I got her a cute orange, folk style hand knitted jumper, so have to wrap it all up. the cards are all made off recycled materials, old magazine cut outs, printing papers etc etc etc

I don't celebrate Christmas, but New Year will a bigger celebration for me. Christmas is mainly for me making and giving presents only. My whole family from home will be gathering in London, so that'll be something different for a change. I can't do anything BIG though as I have an assignment due in early Jan 2009, yup, of all times. But hey, studying is studying!

Well, I'm off to explore my creative making cards brain :)

By the way, I'm selling wall calendar at £10 (inc. packaging & postage) and desk calendar at £6 (inc packaging & postage) As you might not know, I've slashed prices for them!! So, e-mail me for further queries!

In the mood for making...

So, I mentioned last week I had no mood whatsoever to make anything new. I guess I had a total "creative block", I even had writer's block"!! Anyway, I've made two necklaces, chains and looking wicked. I'm currently sewing the twisted ruffles style for a friend of mine, and I am working on more projects. I've been promising over and over to make stuff for the guys, so I'm hoping there'll be more for them next year!! Sorry for such a delay. I'm terrible, I know! Well, it's late, got to sleep. Night x

The X-factor and more!!

So, I'm not the kind who drools over boy bands, or dream about meeting any celebrities for that matter. This is probably not since I was in my teens anyway, but this year's X-Factor is a different story and the competition is pretty high, or strong, or however it's called, whatever, blah blah blah. I've stayed true to my roots of listening to Indie music, Rock stuff, a little bit of trance here and there, a bit of melancholy stuff, bit of classic jazz etc etc. But I listen to mostly indie stuff anyway.

However, when I was watching X-factor last night (Saturday), watching JLS perform one of Michael Jackson's number one hit song, made me drool like crazy!!!!! Oh my goodness!! I'm 26 for goodness sake LOL!!! My favourite??? Yes, I do have a favourite, even though, all four are hotties ;) It's Marvin!!! Ahhhhhhhhh! He's such a hottie.

Okay, anyone who doesn't know who I'm talking about, here's their video :) And another favourite of mine (I actually have too many on X-Factor, it's terrible!! That's why competition is tough this year) Diana Vickers just one of the most cutest, cuddly, funny lil chikadee...I'd be lucky if she was my best friend if I was her age..hehehe Okay, enjoy the two videos!!!

By the Beatles of course and who doesn't love every bit of their music??? Anyway, a friend sent me a video from youtube of a movie coming out soon called Across the Universe and watching a few snippets of the videos, I can tell it is going to be a love film and I think I'm already liking it. *sigh* Sorry, I'm going all corny. hehe

Anyway, other things that need some loving are my hard work in making more jewelleries, paint, draw, oil pastels, waxed crayons, colour pencils, sewing and many more. I could go on forever and ever. I recently made a ring and a necklace which were my design roots, yes, I'm going back to my roots in making jewelleries, no rules and no one telling me that the method is wrong or right. When it comes to making art, there's no rules to follow, whatever you make whatever you feel, it's all from within you. I think only us, our minds can control what we want to do, make, create etc etc etc

I've finally charged up my battery for my digital camera, so I'll be taking tons of pictures and will post them on here.

I've made the calendar, but I cheated by using Vista hehehe. I'm trying to figure out my MAC though as I'm still new to all it's technicalities. But I shall produce my own version of calendar soon enough. I still have time. It is only September, well, towards the end of September anyway!!!!

Ok I must stop rambling, it's very late and I must be off to sleep.

It's calendar time

Okay, so I'm a little too early to be thinking of calendars at this stage, but I think making your own, or should I say designing takes a lot of editing, a lot of planning blah blah blah, so I've decided to compile 12 pictures of my work, both digitally enhanced and original and make a calendar using those pictures. I'm up to May now. I now need a 2009 calendar as reference since I have re-use the same calendar format and the dates are all the same, so will be quite daunting for me to change the numbers etc etc, but hey, I'm unemployed, job hunting and no success of any jobs (yet), I'm studying full-time, in home and also out-home (studying a foundation course, classes are only once a day).

It seems that I need experience in most of the jobs I've been applying for. However, I'm still applying in hopes of getting one, even if it's the most boring thing in the whole wide world, but hey, I got hitched, I got a 2 year old kid, what can they expect, not my fault.

So, the calendars templates that my program has is a little bit un-spicy, so I'll have to brainstorm on to lift it up a little bit more, OKAY, much much MORE! It's going to be a hit, tasty and yummy looking. I'm still deciding on what pictures to use, although, i'm just randomly picking and see how it all goes. Hopefully, I'll get them done on time before Christmas!!!!!!

So, keep on a look out for calendars in my etsy store. But of course, you fellow bloggers, whoever is reading this, if anyone is reading.....you'll be the first to know! :)

Back to work...

Well, it's back to work for me, by which I mean back to making more creative art work. I have not made that many jewelleries yet (or jewelries for US). Although, I have finally finished one of my major art collage mixed media project which is showcased in my etsy shop, then I have been working on digitally enhancing a picture of my cat entitled 'frank sweet pea'. This particular print comes in different sizes. The price listed is for an ACEO card which is fairly small, nearly the same size as a standard business card.

Recently, I have finished doing two art work and also fabric based projects. I'm designing more of the original E&W (eyes&whiskers) and currently doing two BIG projects. I'm using as many fabris I have left and also recycling whatever I have and making them look pretty and charming.

I do however, need to re-take two photos of my art work as night times are possibly the worse times for photo taking! :)

It's all about the lighting, etc etc.

So, I got a forwarded message from a friend of mine and just wanted to know how many guys actually do it??? I know I'm full of cheekiness, but I honestly want to find out though.
